Rebecca is a dedicated and accomplished education professional with over two decades of experience in instructional leadership, teaching & pedagogy, curriculum development, and school administration. Currently serving as an Elementary Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction for St. Tammany Parish Public Schools, she plays a pivotal role in shaping elementary education by supervising instructional practices, evaluating curricula, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement for students and educators alike. Prior to this role, she served as the principal of E.E. Lyon Elementary School in Covington, Louisiana, where she successfully led the school through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining a strong focus on academic excellence. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College, a Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Mercy University (formerly Mercy College), and has completed accelerated licensure programs for both principalship and super intendency at The Ohio State University.
Rebecca began her career as a New York City Teaching Fellow, teaching in the southeast Bronx, where she developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underserved communities and the transformative power of education. Now residing in Covington, Louisiana, with her husband, Owen, she remains committed to expanding educational opportunities for all students. As a member of the advisory board for Lift Up Lab Inc., she is honored to contribute her expertise in curriculum and instruction to support the organization’s vision that every community member, regardless of background, has access to the resources and support needed to thrive academically, emotionally, and financially. By helping to shape and implement instructional programs, she continues her lifelong mission of ensuring that all students receive the high-quality education they deserve.
